IMSS Hospital in Puerto Vallarta found negligent in amputated baby’s arm

The CNDH issued a recommendation to IMSS for medical malpractice that resulted in the amputation of an arm to a newborn in the Puerto Vallarta hospital.

Through a communiqué, the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) indicated that after investigating, elements were found that allowed evidence of violations of the rights to protect the health and best interests of children due to inadequate medical attention in tort of a newborn in the General Hospital of Zone 42 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) by doctors and nurses.
