Trio first opened on August 14, 1997, by Bernhard Güth, a young chef of German origin who brought a fresh perspective on Mediterranean food to Puerto Vallarta. At Trio, Bernhard passed on all the experience he had gained after years of working in some of the best restaurants in the world.
From the beginning, his passion for delicious and abundant food made this colonial house in the center a favorite of locals and critics of good food. In October 2001 its well-known Swedish Chef Ulf Henriksson joined Trio as a partner creating a unique culinary fusion, two young European chefs with impressive professional backgrounds behind the kitchen that highlighted Trio as a renowned gastronomic institution directing it to position it as the pillar avant-garde dinner in Puerto Vallarta.
