Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – As per the directive of Jalisco’s Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro, 76 new buses are scheduled to begin circulating in Puerto Vallarta’s public transportation system today, February 17. These vehicles come equipped with air conditioning and an electronic payment system, marking a significant improvement in the city’s transit infrastructure.
The governor had initially announced on February 6 that the buses would arrive the following day, February 7. However, the need to install air conditioning units and the electronic payment system delayed their deployment until today.
Currently, Puerto Vallarta has 200 buses in operation, comprising 50 new and 150 semi-new units. With the addition of these 76 new buses, the total fleet will expand to approximately 276 vehicles, which is expected to enhance public transport efficiency and the commuter experience in the city.
Local authorities and transit officials have emphasized that this expansion aims to provide more reliable, comfortable, and modern public transportation for residents and visitors alike. The electronic payment system is also part of broader efforts to modernize the transit system and streamline fare collection.
Commuters in Puerto Vallarta are encouraged to take note of these new additions and adjust their travel plans accordingly. Further updates on routes, schedules, and payment integration will be provided by transportation officials in the coming days.
