7th Annual Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica goes national

The press conferences began in different locations around the country on September 1st to promote the 7th Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica. The first stop was the Centro Cultural de España in Mexico City; other conferences will be held in Guadalajara and the Riviera Nayarit.

This seventh edition, set to take place in the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta from October 4-7, 2015, was announced under the slogan “Because the Best Recipe is Learning from the Stars.” Special guests will include the state of Guanajuato and the country of Panama.

The details of this grand culinary event were disclosed before 60 of the nation’s media outlets, and include show cooking, conferences, workshops, wine tastings, expos, and private events, plus the best national and international chefs and sommeliers.

The founders and directors of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica, Consuelo Elipe and Carlos Elizondo, were in charge of the conference; Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, and his counterpart in Puerto Vallarta, Miguel Andrés Hernández, represented the host destinations.

“The idea is to raise awareness of the event on a domestic level in Mexico,” said Consuelo Elipe. “Last year we had 15 states in attendance, but the idea is to have even more. This is why we were ready to hold the presentation in the country’s capital and the response was excellent. We expected 40 media outlets and we got 60, so we’re very pleased.”

Juan José Tamayo, president of the Canirac in Jalisco, was also at the conference, as was Carlos Ruiz, the cultural attaché at the Embassy of Spain in Mexico.

Food & Travel, El Economista, Milenio, El Universal, Boletín Turístico and Notimex were among the media present, to mention but a few.
