Tropical Storm Carlos to Sweep Puerto Vallarta Coast

Tropical Depression Three-E formed Wednesday about 260 miles south-southwest of Puerto Escondido, Mexico. The storm is expected to develop into a tropical storm Carlos by the end of the day and could possibly strengthen into a hurricane before the weekend.

Carlos is expected to move northward hugging the Pacific Coast of Mexico as it passed Puerto Vallarta. While the center may remain offshore, it should at least come close enough to bring periods of heavy rainfall to much of our area by this weekend. Swells generated by the slowly strengthening system will generate high surf and rip currents . . .
