2015 Guayabitos Extreme Triathlon

The 1^st ever 2015 Guayabitos Extreme Triathlon is set to take off on September 26-27 in Rincón de Guayabitos, Riviera Nayarit. This event is organized by the Compostela Municipal Association of Hotels and Motels and the Guayabitos Convention and Visitors Bureau, and is endorsed by the Nayarit Triathlon Association with the support of the Riviera Nayarit CVB.

The invitation is open for all triathletes, clubs, leagues, public and private associations, schools and the general public both domestic and national. The competition field includes the beach at Rincón de Guayabitos, the streets and the environs of Los Ayalas and La Peñita de Jaltemba.

Six Categories await triathletes ages 10 to 50+, with both Men’s and Women’s divisions. A pre-competition physical is recommended.

All participants who cross the line will receive a medal. There’s a 20-thousand peso purse to be divided among the top three places in each category, plus prizes in kind on behalf of the sponsors and special trophies for kids and veterans.

The competitions begin on Saturday the 26^th at 5 p.m. and continue on Sunday the 27^th from 7:30 a.m. onward, all on local time.

The 1^st 2015 Guayabitos Extreme Triathlon is part of the events programed for this year’s second semester by the Compostela Municipal Hotel and Motel Association, headed by Dr. Alejandro Rafael Chávez Bustos. The objective is to attract more tourists to the region during low season.
