Abasolo Neighbors Bring Día de Muertos Fair Downtown

Abasolo Neighbors Bring Día de Muertos Fair Downtown

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, October 30, 2026 — Calle Abasolo hosts “Entre Altares y Sabores” tonight from 6–11 p.m., bringing traditional food, altars, catrinas and scheduled dance performances to Centro.

The kermés, or community fair, is organized by neighborhood residents, tenants and business owners. For people deciding where to spend Friday evening downtown, it brings food and cultural activities together on a street whose own community is helping put on the celebration.

The event announcement describes an evening devoted to sharing local customs and “remembering those who are no longer with us.” According to the announcement, the Instituto Vallartense de Cultura is supporting the community initiative.

Participating establishments and vendors will offer traditional Mexican food and antojitos, the snacks and small dishes associated with street fairs. Xiutla Ballet Folklórico and a musical group are also planned to participate.

That gives neighborhood businesses a role in both organizing the evening and feeding attendees. Food sales are part of the gathering itself, alongside the commemorative altars and catrinas.

The published notices do not identify the participating stretch of Abasolo, food prices, or individual performance times. Anyone coming specifically to see Xiutla will need to confirm its appearance time with organizers.

Xiutla is Puerto Vallarta’s municipal folkloric dance group, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. The tourism board’s anniversary profile describes its work training generations of children and young people in regional Mexican dances, giving tonight’s neighborhood program a connection to a longstanding local cultural institution.

The fair is included in the city’s Recuérdame Día de Muertos program. Residents planning other holiday outings can find the broader schedule in Vallarta Daily’s Day of the Dead calendar and costs guide.

For tonight, the tourism board’s official program also lists an altar opening and pan de muerto tastings at Plaza de Armas from 6–7 p.m., followed by a catrina presentation at Los Arcos del Malecón at 7 p.m. Abasolo’s fair continues until 11 p.m., leaving time for a food stop after those opening events.
