The cruise ship Disney Wonder was expected to dock in Puerto Vallarta this morning, however the cruise was canceled due to Hurricane Odile.
The Disney Wonder was expected to bring 2000 vacationers to the Puerto Vallarta port during this long holiday weekend celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day. The ships arrival would have added an estimated $500,000 USD to the local economy.
Hurricane Odile passed well off the coast of Puerto Vallarta as a Category 4 on Sunday with little to talk about, but went full force into Baja Cal. Sur as a Category 3 hurricane on Monday morning.
The Disney Wonder is a ship that is distinguished for its sophisticated design and modern innovation. The next cruise ship arrival to Puerto Vallarta will be the Norwegian Jewel on September 29.
