While initially moderate in intensity during the early afternoon, the weather escalated swiftly as nightfall approached. This sudden and unanticipated meteorological event left the local populace, particularly motorists and pedestrians, stunned and scrambling for shelter.
Of particular note was the impact on individuals out on the streets, engaged in various activities, or waiting for public transport. The deluge caught them off guard, which rapidly transformed key arterial roads into virtual rivers. This was especially prevalent in the city’s central area and the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood.
In stark contrast, other regions within the municipality experienced only light rainfall. Reports indicate that the brunt of the storm was particularly intense in the central and southern parts of the city.
