Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Residents of several neighborhoods in Puerto Vallarta are advised to prepare for a temporary disruption in their water supply due to significant infrastructure upgrades. The Municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta, in collaboration with SEAPAL Vallarta, has announced a comprehensive plan to modernize the city’s hydrosanitary infrastructure.
The project involves the installation of new drinking water lines along Federación Avenue, necessitating temporary water supply interruptions. SEAPAL Vallarta’s Drinking Water Distribution Department will execute four critical pipe junctions. Two of these junctions will be at the intersection of Federación Avenue with Víctor Iturbe Street, and two more at the intersection with Congreso de la Unión.
This necessary upgrade will result in a 24-hour water supply cut, beginning at 9 am on Wednesday, December 13. Affected areas include Coapinole, Brisas del Coapinole, Lomas del Coapinole, El Calvario, La Floresta, Bobadilla, Loma Bonita, Morelos, Pavón, Hipódromo, El Conejo, Magisterio, and Fraccionamiento Lisboa.
The complexity of this task, involving a team of 14 SEAPAL workers, means that the work is expected to extend into the early hours of Thursday, December 14. Normalization of the water supply will begin gradually the following morning, as soon as the lines are fully pressurized and the El Mangal tank regains its levels.
This collaboration between SEAPAL Vallarta and the Municipal Government, including the provision of essential piping materials, is aimed at ensuring the longevity and reliability of Puerto Vallarta’s water infrastructure.
