Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – In a significant operation, the National Guard in Puerto Vallarta successfully subdued an armed confrontation with criminals, resulting in two arrests and the confiscation of an extensive array of war materials, including rockets, rocket launchers, and grenades. The operation unfolded near El Ranchito, marking a critical strike against criminal activities in the area.
The incident commenced when National Guard officers noticed two individuals acting suspiciously beside a truck. The situation escalated rapidly when, upon realizing they had attracted the attention of law enforcement, the suspects attempted to flee, inadvertently colliding with a National Guard vehicle in the process. This act of evasion quickly turned violent as the suspects opened fire on the officers, prompting a swift and determined response from the National Guard.
Despite the initial aggression, the confrontation was brought to a decisive end when the outnumbered attackers ceased their fire, discarded their weapons, and surrendered to the authorities. During the encounter, one of the suspects sustained a minor leg injury and received immediate medical attention from paramedics on the scene.
The operation’s haul was substantial, with law enforcement officials seizing 10 rockets, two rocket launchers, grenades, two long guns, three handguns, 40 magazines, 837 cartridges, two tactical vests, and two bags of marijuana from the suspects’ vehicle. This significant seizure highlights the ongoing challenges and threats posed by armed criminal groups in the region.
The detained individuals have been presented before the Federal Public Ministry. As of now, their legal status remains pending, awaiting further updates.
