Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco — From February 14 to 16, Puerto Vallarta’s city center will transform into an open-air gallery as it hosts the highly anticipated XVII Madonnari Puerto Vallarta Festival 2025. This vibrant cultural event not only aims to strengthen art and cultural appreciation in the municipality but also celebrates the longstanding sister city relationship with Santa Barbara, California. The festival is supported by the administration of Mayor Luis Munguía.
Councilor Laurel Carrillo, president of the City Council Committee on Culture and Cultural Rights, highlighted the significance of the event and outlined the diverse opportunities it offers to participating artists. “This year, artists will compete in categories for children, juniors, youth, and adults, with their works evaluated by a jury composed of Madonnari artists from Santa Barbara,” Carrillo stated. The jury will assess the entries based on composition, color use, and depth.
Grand Prize Opportunity
The winner of the adult category will be awarded an invaluable opportunity: representing Puerto Vallarta at the prestigious Madonnari Festival in Santa Barbara, California, in 2025. For those who are unable to travel due to visa constraints, a cash prize of 10,000 pesos will be offered as an alternative.

All participants will be provided with the necessary materials to create their masterpieces during the event. Winners from each category will also receive cash prizes, further encouraging artists to showcase their talent and creativity.
