Work on Puerto Vallarta’s next-gen terminal is past the halfway mark, and the plan is bigger than new gates. GAP is investing MXN 9.2 billion to double the airport’s capacity while prioritizing sustainability—encompassing vast solar arrays, more innovative cooling systems, and water reuse. The operator is targeting LEED Gold certification and a phased opening, with the first phase scheduled to commence in 2026 and the complete opening set for 2027. If it lands as promised, Vallarta gets more flights, shorter lines, and a greener footprint in one shot.
