If I could point to one thing that motivated me to move from the chilly Northeast to California 30 years ago, it would have to be songs like "California Dreamin." With vivid lyrics like "all the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey" and "I'd be safe and warm, if I was in L.A." this song was my "daydream" when facing a long, hard winter.
