Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Sept. 9, 2026 — SEAPAL will interrupt water service in four areas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday for pipe connections and a valve replacement.
The shutdown covers La Mina I, La Mina II, 1 de Mayo in Ixtapa, and the Marina Vallarta subdivision. The notice does not announce a citywide interruption.
Four new water-line connections will be made in La Mina I and La Mina II. That work will also stop service in 1 de Mayo.
Four areas face a seven-hour interruption
Residents and businesses in the affected areas should store water before 9 a.m. SEAPAL also asked customers to make sure their tinacos are ready for use.
The official service advisory gives 4 p.m. as the scheduled completion time. It does not provide a separate estimate for full pressure recovery at every property.
SEAPAL did not publish block-by-block boundaries within the four named areas. Customers in those neighborhoods should treat the advisory as applying to their property.
Separate projects in Ixtapa and Marina Vallarta
The Ixtapa-area interruption is tied to an expansion of the potable-water network. SEAPAL said crews will complete four interconnections at different points in La Mina I and La Mina II.
In Marina Vallarta, crews will replace a sectional valve on Avenida Paseo de la Marina Sur. The agency said the existing valve had reached the end of its operating life.
Both projects are scheduled during the same seven-hour window.
PVDN reviewed the municipal government notice, local reporting published Sept. 8 and a second dated account. Each lists the same neighborhoods, work, and service-interruption hours.
The project follows other planned connection work in northern Puerto Vallarta. A six-hour SEAPAL water cut affecting Ixtapa and nearby areas was scheduled in May for a separate line project.
Reporting continued service problems
Customers who remain without water after crews complete the work can file a report through SEAPAL.
