Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Sept. 22, 2026 – Somos Teatro PV will premiere a rock musical about Puerto Vallarta tourism workers on Oct. 10, with additional performances scheduled for Oct. 17 and 24.
“Acceso a Personal Autorizado” follows four waiter friends confronting choices involving relationships, money, ambition, and possible fame, according to the municipal announcement.
We independently confirmed the dates, venue, organizer and advertised ticket price through the production’s public ticket listing.
Dates, price and location for local audiences
All three performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturdays. The premiere is Oct. 10, followed by shows Oct. 17 and 24.
The production will be staged in the auditorium at Colegio Niños Héroes, Paseo del Marlin 89, in the Las Gaviotas neighborhood. The ticket listing advertises admission at 280 pesos.
The municipal government said tickets can be purchased through the online listing or Somos Teatro PV’s social media accounts.
The public materials describe the production in Spanish. Neither the municipal announcement nor the ticket listing advertises English subtitles or an English-language performance.
A fictional hotel story centered on service work
The organizer’s published synopsis places the story inside the fictional Hotel Canto del Mar. Its central characters are Raúl “Rolo” Alegre and Mariana “Lira” Lira, two restaurant employees with different reasons for working there.
Rolo is a waiter and music student who wants to become a rock performer. Lira studies visual arts while helping support her family, according to the synopsis.
Their situation changes when music producer Jay Carter and his wife, Daisy, arrive at the hotel. The encounter forces Rolo to choose between his relationship, his job and an opportunity for fame.
Although the city describes the musical as bringing tourism-worker stories to the stage, the published synopsis presents fictional characters. The available production materials do not describe it as documentary theater or say the script came from worker interviews.
Director Jesús Jaime Caletti said the production is aimed mainly at hotel, restaurant and tourism-service employees who may recognize situations connected to their work, according to the municipal announcement.
Original music and the company’s anniversary
The production contains 14 original musical numbers that advance the story, the city said. It described the work as a rock musical produced by Somos Teatro PV.
The Oct. 10 premiere will coincide with the company’s eighth anniversary, according to the announcement.
Producer Ivette Monterrosas said the project also represents an effort to strengthen locally produced theater in Puerto Vallarta.
Municipal cultural support
The Puerto Vallarta government described the production as receiving municipal support. Its announcement connected that assistance to the City Council’s Culture and Cultural Rights Commission and the Instituto Vallartense de Cultura.
Councilor Laurel Carrillo Ventura, who chairs the commission, encouraged residents to support locally produced theater. She said the municipal government and cultural institute help creators bring their projects before the public.
The announcement did not identify a public subsidy, contract or spending amount connected to the production.
