Six people were treated for smoke intoxication after a fire broke out inside a room at Hotel Canto del Sol in Puerto Vallarta on Monday.
The emergency was reported to the city’s Civil Protection and Fire Department. Firefighters went to the hotel after receiving a call about a room fire inside the property.
Crews worked to control the flames and keep the fire from spreading to other parts of the hotel. During the response and evacuation work, six people were affected, reportedly from smoke inhalation.

The six people received medical attention from first responders at the scene. Authorities said they did not need to be taken to a hospital.
