Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, August 17, 2026 – Nineteen local entrepreneurs from priority groups took part in Mercado Vallarta Incluye at La Isla Shopping Village on Saturday, presenting crafts, fresh regional products, pet items and other locally made goods alongside live cultural performances.
The August 15 edition was coordinated by the Puerto Vallarta Directorate of Equity and Combating Inequality. An official municipal announcement promoted the event at La Isla and identified the 19 participating entrepreneurs and the groups represented.
Participants included representatives connected to Estancia de Desarrollo Integral A.C., Fundación Andrea 3.21 and the social reintegration area of the Secretariat of Security. Entrepreneurs and organizations connected with people with disabilities, the LGBTTTIQ+ community and older adults also participated.
The products extended beyond handicrafts. Vendors offered articles for pets and regional products such as coconuts and mangoes. Live music, contemporary dance and folkloric performances accompanied the displays throughout the event.
Karla Vivian Bravo Pérez, director of the municipal office, said the initiative gives people and organizations from vulnerable groups a place to display and sell their products.
The format has been repeated at La Isla in recent weeks. A July 24 edition also featured 19 exhibitors, with local coverage describing the event as a mix of handmade goods, traditional crafts and locally produced items. In coverage of that earlier edition, the municipal director described the spaces as free and located in a high-footfall commercial setting.
Holding the market inside an established shopping center gives participating vendors access to people already visiting the mall. It also places the program within Puerto Vallarta’s broader small-business economy, covered in PVDN’s business and economy reporting.
The city’s description of the market as a free sales space gives local entrepreneurs a way to reach shoppers without paying for a permanent storefront.
