Puerto Vallarta police detained Fernando “N,” alias “La Rana,” after neighbors and social media users linked him to alleged robberies in Centro.
Officers intercepted him when he allegedly tried to commit another robbery in the same area. Residents had already reported his presence several times, so municipal police were watching the zone, the reports said. Authorities then placed him before the Ministerio Público.
Neighborhood reports put police on alert
Reports say Fernando “N” had appeared in several social media posts. Residents named him there as an alleged suspect in robberies at homes and businesses.
Those posts do not prove guilt. Prosecutors must review the file and decide what the law can support. The nickname may travel fast online, but the case still has to move through court.
Earlier detentions were also cited
Reporte Diario and Noticias de la Bahía also reported that municipal police had detained Fernando “N” at least three earlier times. Neither report said whether those detentions led to charges, convictions, or open cases.
