Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – The city’s beloved Malecón, widely considered the pride of Vallarta and the most frequented spot for both locals and tourists, is set to undergo a new round of improvements. On the heels of recent upgrades including lighting renovations and infrastructure repairs, the Public Works Adjudication Committee—led by Mayor Luis Munguía—has officially approved the rehabilitation of curbs, the application of a washed seal, and the installation of prefabricated staple benches.
The main objective of this project is to reinforce the Malecón’s status as a vibrant, welcoming, and safe public space. By rehabilitating curbs and refreshing the area with a washed seal, officials aim to keep walkways not only clean and visually appealing but also secure for pedestrians. The new benches, meanwhile, will create comfortable rest areas where visitors can sit and take in the Malecón’s famous seaside views.
“These measures reflect our commitment to preserving the iconic character of the Malecón while continually improving it,” said Mayor Munguía. “We want every visitor—locals and tourists alike—to feel welcomed, safe, and at home here in Puerto Vallarta.”
The Malecón draws thousands of visitors daily, thanks to its lively atmosphere, oceanfront promenade, and proximity to numerous shops and restaurants. City officials believe that these upgrades will further enhance its reputation as a premier destination, ensuring that Puerto Vallarta remains a must-see location on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
