Riviera Nayarit offering certification for wedding professionals

The Promotion and Sales department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau is extending an open call to certify professionals in the Destination’s romance industry, which includes wedding planners and service providers for weddings, honeymoons and wedding anniversaries.

The Training Workshop for the Destination Wedding Specialist Certification will discuss practical issues and will involve a test at the end of the program. Each participant will receive a certificate endorsed by the Association for Wedding Professionals International (AFWPI).

The AFWPI is one of the most recognized international organizations. It is validated by the Mexican Association of Independent Professional Wedding and Event Coordinators (ACIBEP, by its acronym in Spanish), which works towards the development of its associates, to promote the development of wedding tourism and is endorsed by the Mexico Tourism Board and Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism.

The course takes place on June 7, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 6 pm. The call has gone out and space is limited, so registration closes at the end of March 2016. The cost for registration is MX$1,820 plus IVA.

Some of the topics to be discussed in this course include knowledge of the territory, objective market management, identification of and assertive communication with clients, identification of service providers and legalities, among other related topics.
