Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – The municipal government, led by Luis Munguía, has announced a road operation to ensure the safety of participants in the upcoming 5K Tourist Half Marathon, set to take place this Sunday, February 23. The race will bring together runners from across Mexico and is expected to impact traffic along key routes in the city.
To facilitate the event and protect participants, road closures will be implemented along Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue, specifically in the central lanes. The closures will affect the following intersections:
- Medina Ascencio and Americas
- Medina Ascencio and Juan Soriano
- Medina Ascencio and Bypass
- Medina Ascencio and Clinic 42
- Medina Ascencio and Fiesta Americana
- Medina Ascencio, Kristal and Águila
- Medina Ascencio and Joya Hospital
- Medina Ascencio and Galerías
- Medina Ascencio and Iguana Island
The road closures will be in effect from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on race day. Authorities have provided alternative routes for motorists, including Las Glorias, Fluvial Vallarta, and Prisciliano Sánchez roads.
Local residents and visitors are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays. Public transportation routes may also be temporarily modified to accommodate the race. Traffic officers will be deployed to help manage the flow of vehicles and ensure minimal disruption.
