Three Vallarta Youths Remain Missing as Alerts Widen

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, July 2, 2026 – Official search alerts remain active for three young people last seen June 25 near a bus stop in El Zancudo, moving the case from early family reports into Jalisco and national missing-person search channels while investigators have not publicly confirmed how they disappeared.

Flor Yoselin Espinoza Contreras, 18; Elvira Monserrat Guzmán Mascorro, 14; and José Israel Ramos Mejía, 17, were reported missing after contact was lost in the rural community along State Highway 544, on the corridor between Puerto Vallarta and Las Palmas. NTR Guadalajara reported that family accounts placed the three near a bus stop in El Zancudo on June 25 and that Jalisco authorities had activated search protocols.

The case drew wider attention because relatives said Flor Yoselin was on her way to a graduation ceremony at CECyTEJ Ixtapa. Local reports have repeated family claims that the three may have been taken by force, but that has not been confirmed publicly by the Fiscalía del Estado de Jalisco. No official statement reviewed by PVDN has identified suspects, a vehicle, a motive, or a confirmed route after the last reported contact.

The clearest development this week is that all three cases now have official search alerts. Tribuna de la Bahía reconstructed the timeline and reported that Elvira Monserrat’s alert was issued first, followed by Flor Yoselin’s and then José Israel’s, placing the three names into the formal search system rather than leaving the case only in social-media circulation.

A separate Tribuna report on José Israel’s search alert said the 17-year-old was last seen June 25 in Puerto Vallarta and listed identifying details included in the official cédula, including his height, clothing and distinguishing marks. The report also said the Jalisco search commission requested information that could help locate him.

The distinction is important in a case where public posts, family appeals and official records have moved at different speeds. Family accounts can help spread photographs quickly, but the state cédulas and National Search Alerts are the documents agencies use to coordinate public tips, field searches and cross-checks with other authorities. The National Search Alert system is designed for the immediate, coordinated dissemination of information about missing people.

In Jalisco, people can report information through the Comisión de Búsqueda de Personas del Estado de Jalisco. The agency’s public guidance says reports can be made by phone, digitally or in person, and that its lines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The listed numbers are 33 1514 5422 and 33 3145 6314. The state also maintains a public search-cédula portal, though individual records should be checked directly against official postings because details can change as cases are updated.

The search is unfolding months after Jalisco opened a regional search commission office in Puerto Vallarta, inside the UNIRSE building, to serve families in the coastal region without requiring them to travel to Guadalajara. Jalisco TV reported at the February opening that the office would receive disappearance reports, provide guidance and help families with search mechanisms and case files.

Puerto Vallarta already has a heavy missing-person caseload. PVDN reported in May that the municipality had 559 accumulated missing and unlocated-person cases through April 30, based on state data. A later PVDN story covered how families and supporters have used Plaza de Armas to keep missing-person cases visible in the city’s public life.

As of Thursday, authorities had not announced that Flor Yoselin, Elvira Monserrat or José Israel had been located. Anyone with direct information should contact the Jalisco search commission or emergency authorities rather than relying on unverified posts, especially in a case where the basic timeline is still being confirmed through official channels.
