Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, August 5, 2026 – Search notices remain active for two young women from Acatlán de Juárez whose families say they left the municipality on July 27 after accepting a job opportunity connected with Puerto Vallarta.
Violeta Alejandra Santana Bueno, 21, and Melissa Anahí Carranza Contreras, 19, were last seen in Acatlán de Juárez, according to search information circulated by their families and reports published this week. Their disappearance has drawn attention in Puerto Vallarta because relatives said the women intended to travel here for work.
The distinction is important. The last confirmed public sighting cited in the search notices is in Acatlán de Juárez, south of Guadalajara, not in Puerto Vallarta. No public statement reviewed by PVDN identifies a workplace, employer, address, transportation route, or confirmed sighting in the city after they left.
Family members say communication with both women was lost soon afterward. In a public appeal reported by Quinto Poder, Violeta’s mother said her daughter and Melissa had been invited to work in Puerto Vallarta. Other reporting has identified July 27 as the date the two were last seen in Acatlán de Juárez.
The Jalisco Commission for the Search for Missing Persons and the state’s Special Prosecutor’s Office for Missing Persons are the agencies responsible for search and investigation work in such cases. Their public information channels remain the appropriate place to report credible leads, rather than to share unverified claims online.
Violeta is described in circulated alerts as 1.65 meters tall, with shoulder-length dyed hair and distinctive tattoos on both arms and her right hand. Melissa is described as 1.57 meters tall, with dyed straight hair and tattoos including a tarantula near her abdomen and a jellyfish on her left forearm.
