Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, June 27, 2026 – Puerto Vallarta’s Presidency office remodel has climbed past 11.6 million pesos in documented municipal spending, while the project still lacks a clear public finish line.
The payments cover work and purchases tied to the Centro City Hall office and the Presidency spaces inside the Unidad Municipal Administrativa, including furniture, office reconditioning, and LED screens. The documented total stands at 11,662,790.27 pesos, with work that began in 2024 still not publicly reported as definitively complete.
The spending trail
The largest portion of the remodel is tied to the Presidency office in Centro. The payment trail includes a 2,016,185.20-peso advance to Mirtillo Obra, S.A. de C.V. in February 2025, followed by three later payments of 1,981,688.24 pesos each.
Other purchases widened the file beyond construction. The documented expenses include 1,431,515.40 pesos in furniture, 1,698,240 pesos for four LED screens, and smaller purchases for lighting, wall paneling, and additional furnishings.
The work was not limited to the Centro building. The Presidency area within the UMA also underwent reconditioning on the fifth floor, while the fourth floor was adapted for waiting and service areas.
A November 2024 municipal payment file lists five transfers on Nov. 22, 2024, for reconditioning the Presidency offices on the UMA’s fifth floor. The city file spells the vendor as “Miritillo Obra, S.A. de C.V.” and those five entries total 500,966.24 pesos.
Furniture moved through a public bid
One clearer piece of the trail is the furniture purchase. The city’s procurement file for LPL CM/039/2024 describes the process as the “acquisition of office furniture for the Municipal Presidency of Puerto Vallarta.” The presentation act was held Dec. 18, 2024, in the UMA’s fifth-floor Presidency meeting room.
The bid had two participants. Wackadoodle Productos, S.A. de C.V. was rejected, leaving Claudia Gleason Franco as the solvent bidder. The award document lists a subtotal of 1,234,064.50 pesos before VAT, which matches the 1,431,515.40-peso furniture payment once VAT is added.
The budget scale
For scale, Puerto Vallarta’s 2026 budget projects total spending of 3.101 billion pesos. The same budget lists 104.33 million pesos for public investment under Chapter 6000.
The 11.66 million pesos documented for the Presidency remodel equals roughly 11% of that annual public-investment line. That comparison is not an accounting charge against the 2026 budget, since the identified payments primarily relate to 2024 and 2025. It is a way to understand the size of the office project besides the citywide works.
The city’s own development plan says the administration is pursuing a government that is “intelligent, transparent and close to citizens.” A complete remodel closeout would be a simple test of that promise.
