Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Oct. 9, 2026 — Volaris canceled flights to and from Puerto Vallarta for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10-11, because of Hurricane Simon, the airline announced Friday.
Airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico identified two canceled round trips for Saturday, serving Querétaro and Mexico City. GAP also confirmed the cancellation of all scheduled Volaris operations Sunday.
The airport remained open and operating at 4:30 p.m. Friday, according to GAP’s operational update. That status reflected conditions at the time of the report.
Check your flight before heading to the airport
For residents leaving town and visitors returning home, GAP recommended contacting their airline to confirm their flight and available alternatives.
Volaris’ passenger announcement covers both weekend days and extends beyond the specific Saturday routes listed in GAP’s update.
“Watch your email and check the options available to you,” Volaris told affected passengers in its Spanish-language notice.
GAP listed these Saturday cancellations:
- Querétaro–Puerto Vallarta–Querétaro: VOI7506 and VOI7507.
- Mexico City–Puerto Vallarta–Mexico City: VOI282 and VOI283.
The airline’s broader announcement also included flights serving Tepic, Uruapan and Colima on Oct. 10-11.
We previously reported that Puerto Vallarta moved from a hurricane watch to a warning Thursday night.
Where to get help with your reservation
GAP’s airport directory lists the terminal at kilometer 7.5 on Carretera a Tepic. Passengers should follow GAP’s recommendation to confirm their itinerary before making that trip.
We checked Volaris’ official contact guide, which directs passengers to WhatsApp for flight-status assistance. The listed number is +52 55 5898 8599.
The airline says passengers can also manage reservations through My Trips, using their reservation code and last name. Volaris specifies that its telephone lines handle ticket sales and additional services.
