The reported assault happened in daylight along the Francisco Medina Ascencio corridor, one of the city’s busiest commercial stretches. Police took the initial statement, and investigative officers later began reviewing possible surveillance evidence tied to the suspect’s escape route.
She Left the Bank With Cash Then the Robber Struck
A 37-year-old woman was robbed of 11,500 pesos after leaving a bank on Francisco Medina Ascencio near Plaza Caracol, according to a local report.
The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. in the Díaz Ordaz neighborhood. The woman had withdrawn the cash shortly before the robbery.
Robbery Reported After Bank Withdrawal
According to the report, the woman was walking toward a public bus stop near a fast-food business when a man approached her. He allegedly placed an object against her back and demanded the money.
The victim handed over the cash, and the suspect fled on an Italika motorcycle heading north on Francisco Medina Ascencio. No arrest was reported in the initial account.
Police described the suspect as a tall man with light brown skin, wearing jeans and a navy blue shirt. Those details came from the statement given to authorities, according to the same report.
Police Open Initial Case Work
Municipal police responded after the report and interviewed the woman. Officers also gathered information for the Informe Policial Homologado, the standard police report used in criminal cases in Mexico.
Investigative police later took over the next steps. Their work included looking for possible surveillance footage and reviewing the suspect’s reported escape route, NoticiasPV reported.
The case adds another robbery report to a corridor where banks, shops, bus stops, and steady traffic sit close together. Vallarta Daily recently reported that robbery reports in Puerto Vallarta rose in early 2026, with local security concerns focused in part on thefts in public and commercial areas.
