The international cruise industry serving Puerto Vallarta is on the rise. This year cruise arrivals to the port city are expected to increase 26% compared to 2014.
Last year 120 cruise ships anchored in Puerto Vallarta, but this year the port already has 139 arrivals confirmed.
Arturo Ganem, a Representative for Carnival Cruise Lines in Mexico, stated that there is an increase interest in Puerto Vallarta cruises within the industry, and not only through the typical cruise season, but year round arrivals.
Already the Port Authority of Puerto Vallarta confirms that there are 105 cruise ships already confirmed for next year, making 2016 projections even stronger than 2015.
The Port Authority is also working on a $400 million peso modernization of facilities at the port.
