Ideally suited for both families and couples looking to get away, this 78-suite, eco-friendly resort is nestled between the Sierra Madre mountain range and the Bahia de Banderas Bay in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, just 25 minutes from Puerto Vallarta’s international airport.

The resort offers guests the best of both worlds. For example, lovers of the outdoors will want to take full advantage of the opportunities to hike and explore the resort’s ecological reserve and resident flora and fauna. Those preferring to spend time relaxing in the sun will find the Eva Mandarina Beach Club the ideal locale for soaking up the rays. Just 10 minutes away, the resort runs a shuttle to the beach club twice an hour, ensuring that guests can come and go at their pleasure.

When not out exploring the surrounding area, guests can take advantage of the property’s many services and amenities, including a large infinity pool that offers spectacular views of the ocean, a whirlpool hot tub, wet solarium, and a fully equipped gym and wellness area located alongside the resort spa. The Makawe Spa offers top of the line treatments, including Swedish, sports and aromatherapy massages, reflexology and a variety of wellness paths, exotic rituals and ancestral ceremonies, including the resort’s specialty Hikuri ritual.

The spa invites guests to relax with a steam bath, Zen plunge pool and six Asian-inspired private interior and exterior palm hut treatment rooms.

Families will also find plenty to occupy them thanks to such activities as table tennis, darts, volleyball, beach football, archery, paddling, and a variety of non-motorized sports such as canoeing, windsurfing, snorkeling and diving. And little ones will have the time of their young lives at the Kid’s Club for children 4 to 12 years old.

On-site dining provide guests with gourmet options to suit every taste: Rodizio, a Japanese restaurant, and Raixes, which features a full buffet with different themes nightly.

And when the time comes to relax, guests have numerous choices. Sixty-one Tropical View Junior Suites nestled in a lush natural setting provide an unforgettable experience. The resort’s eight Rolling Hill Junior Suites feature king size bedrooms appointed with contemporary design, a welcoming living room with a sofa bed, a 42-inch plasma TV and an outdoor balcony. For those looking to pamper themselves or who are in search of a way to commemorate a special occasion, nine Master Ocean View suites await.

Fusing luxury with modern comforts, this exquisite Master Suite offers a large private terrace, beautiful living room and fully-equipped kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances.
