911 emergency number rolls out in Puerto Vallarta

The final roll-out of 911 services in Mexico will include the State of Jalisco, home of Puerto Vallarta, on Monday, January 9, 2017.

More than 3,000 operators and 200 supervisors were trained to work in the command centers known as C2s, C4s, and C5s. Personnel were trained in psychology by the National Autonomous University of México, and emergency medical training by Red Cross Mexico.

The National Institute of Women has partnered with the new service to offer assistance to emergency calls regarding domestic violence.
