Ban on consuming shellfish from Puerto Vallarta lifted

The Jalisco Health Secretariat (SSJ), through the Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks in Jalisco (Coprisjal), lifted the ban put in place on January 30 in Puerto Vallarta for the consumption of bivalve seafood (shellfish).

Shellfish ban issued in Puerto Vallarta

Dagoberto García Mejía from Coprisjal explained that in the last samples of seawater collected, there was no evidence of the marine biotoxin that affected the mollusks that lead to the ban last month.
