One person was killed and at least two injured, one of them a police officer, as a result of a shooting in the heart of Puerto Vallarta.
According to the first reports, the subject, whose identity is unknown, tried to rob a person with an armed weapon, and police responded to the report made.
When the police officers located the subject, he shot at police in which they returned fire killing the alleged robber.
In the exchange of bullets, a policeman was injured in the leg, while another person, a passerby who was at the scene, was also injured. Both were taken to hospitals for treatment.
More elements of the police arrived on the scene, as well as agents of the Navy and the State Prosecutor’s Office, who began the first inquiries into the investigation.
The area where the events occurred is one of the busiest in the tourist strip of the city, which is filled with bathers who go to Los Muertos beach, as well as the pier and local restaurants.
