A woman identified as Anna died on the morning of January 23 after falling from a balcony located in a building in the Nápoles neighborhood, Benito Juárez, Mexico City.
According to the reports, the 30-year-old woman and American nationality lost her life on the outskirts of a home located at number 17 Texas Street.
Paramedics arrived at the scene, however, the woman no longer had vital signs upon arrival.
After confirming the death, elements of the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) began to cordon off the scene to facilitate the work of the experts, who began with the corresponding procedures.
Meanwhile, elements of the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office ( FGJCDMX ) carried out the investigations to determine if the cause of death was the result of an accident or if there is any other line of investigation. However, the authorities have not issued further details in this regard.
This is not the first time that a case like this has been recorded in the Mexican capital. On September 10, 2022, passers-by who were walking down Campos Elíseos street, in the Polanco neighborhood, were surprised to find the body of a young man around 26 years of age.
Preliminarily, it was noted that the man had allegedly thrown himself from the roof of a 20-story building located in the Miguel Hidalgo area.
However, at that time, the authorities did not confirm if the deceased made an attempt on his life, if it was a premeditated act by another person, or, on the contrary, it was the product of an accident. Given the shocking scene, the authorities were notified and elements of the CDMX Citizen Security Secretariat arrived at the site to verify what had happened.
Due to the facts, local media indicated that a subject would have arrived at the scene. He allegedly identified himself as the victim’s brother and identified the body.
The death of Anna was added to the list of similar deaths in the Benito Juárez area of Mexico City, a neighborhood where similar cases have already been documented.
Like that of the Colombian model, Stephanie Magon, who was found without vital signs on a street in Colonia Nápoles, in August 2016.
Authorities determined that the 24-year-old woman had head trauma, jaw fracture, and signs of torture. After what was indicated, the then Attorney General of the Federal District began investigations to determine if the model accidentally fell from a balcony in the area.
Something similar happened with the Venezuelan model Saraí Soto Hernández, who died after falling from the eighth floor of a Benito Juárez area in June 2020.
Subsequently, in October 2021, the death of a woman who fell from the third floor of a building, also in the same neighborhood, was reported.
