PUERTO VALLARTA (PVDN) – The popular tourist destination of Puerto Vallarta is enjoying a remarkable summer vacation season with impressive numbers, as tourism occupancy rates average close to 80 percent during the week and surge to over 90 percent on weekends.
The director of Tourism and Economic Development, Christian Salvador Preciado Cázares, hailed the significant figures and emphasized the commitment to offering top-tier service to both tourists and inhabitants. “This is the result of the good work that is being done together to continue positioning ourselves in the preference of tourists,” he noted.
Under the guidance of Mayor Luis Alberto Michel Rodriguez, the agency has prioritized the optimization of services, a subject that is continuously addressed with members of the destination’s tourism industry. The emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction seems to be paying off, as Puerto Vallarta continues to draw in tourists in large numbers.
According to the official statistics, the average occupancy during weekdays has fluctuated between 76.60 and 80.50 percent, while the last two weekends astonishingly reached 95 percent. These figures have surpassed expectations and signify the city’s growing appeal.
Preciado Cázares also underscored the growth in tourists arriving by foreign land transport. Data from the manager of Central Camionera, Carlos Murguía, revealed that during the holiday season last year, 49,626 thousand tourists arrived in Puerto Vallarta, and this year, an expected 55,000 tourists will reach the destination.
“This reflects to us that thousands of tourists continue to bet on having their vacations in our destination,” Preciado Cázares said, highlighting that bus lines have even had to implement extra runs due to demand, particularly from Mexico City, the Metropolitan area of Guadalajara, and the Bajío region.
Further boosting the local economy, the month of August will witness the arrival of eight international tourist cruises, contributing significant financial benefits to the area.
Puerto Vallarta’s thriving tourism industry, bolstered by a strong focus on service and satisfaction, has ensured a successful summer season. Various groups, conventions, travel agencies, and schools continue to choose Puerto Vallarta as their vacation destination, affirming the city’s reputation as a sought-after location.
As Puerto Vallarta continues to flourish, local authorities remain committed to sustaining growth, enhancing the visitor experience, and fostering an environment where tourists from all walks of life can enjoy the unique offerings of this vibrant coastal city.
