The search for the missing Moncayo Merino brothers, Luis Alberto, 27, and Briam Alexey, 21, continues as the family and authorities remain in the dark about their whereabouts more than two weeks after their disappearance.
The brothers were last seen on August 4th, when they left their home in a black Dodge RAM truck, which they intended to sell, en route to the César event hall in the Lomas del Coapinole neighborhood. They have not returned home since then, and no clues about their whereabouts have emerged.
This incident comes amid a wave of violence in the state of Jalisco, highlighted by the recent disappearance of five young people in Lagos de Moreno. The region has been grappling with insecurity, and this latest case only underscores the challenges authorities face in ensuring the safety of its residents.
The Jalisco State Person Search Commission released a file with the description of the two brothers:
Luis Alberto Moncayo Merino, 27 years old, stands 1.75 meters tall, has a robust complexion, a wart on his neck, and a scar on his left eyebrow.
Briam Alexey Moncayo Merino, 21 years old, is recognizable by his braces and several tattoos, including “1971” on his right arm, “1969”, a crown with an arrow, and “MCMLXXI” on the left arm. He also has the phrase “Faith in God” tattooed on the left side of his chest, an image of a palm tree with a beach on his right ankle, and two crossed arrows on his left ankle.
The Jalisco Search Commission is urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the Moncayo Merino brothers to contact them at 33 3145 6314 or via email at [email protected]. As the investigation continues, the family is desperately hoping for answers about their loved ones and is pleading for the community’s assistance in bringing them back safely.
