Puerto Vallarta Commission Approves Nearly 12 Million Pesos in Infrastructure Projects

PUERTO VALLARTA (PVDN) – In a significant move towards infrastructural development, the Public Works Adjudication Commission of Puerto Vallarta approved three important projects during its ordinary session held this Wednesday. The projects totaling nearly 12 million pesos and will be executed using municipal resources.

New Technical Secretary Introduced

The session was presided over by Mayor Professor Luis Alberto Michel Rodríguez, who took the opportunity to introduce the new Technical Secretary and Director of Public Works, Architect Jaime Gabriel Meza.

Public Lighting Modernization on Av. Los Poetas

One of the first items on the agenda was the public lighting modernization work on Av. Los Poetas. Spanning the stretch between Av. México and Exiquio Corona in the Residencial Lisboa area, the project received approval for an allocation of almost 9 million pesos. This falls under a summary simplified tender ruling, emphasizing the critical nature and urgency of the upgrade.

Traffic Light Installation on Mexico Avenue

The commission also discussed and gave its nod to a traffic light installation project on Mexico Avenue. Two specific sections were outlined: one between Ramón Ibarría González Street and Las Palmas Avenue in the Las Mojoneras neighborhood, and another between Univa and Tec de Monterrey streets in the Villas Universidad neighborhood. The estimated cost for this undertaking is almost 600 thousand pesos. This project aims to improve traffic management and safety where new incorporation lanes have recently been built using hydraulic concrete.

Asphalt-Based Paving Work on Av. Hacienda El Pitillal

The third project, discussed under the section of contracting of works in the direct award modality, involves asphalt-based paving work on Av. Hacienda El Pitillal. This will span between Av. Las Torres and Flamingos Street in the Exhaciendas El Pitillal neighborhood. The budget for this work exceeds 2.2 million pesos.

The approval of these projects marks a significant step in Puerto Vallarta’s commitment to improving its infrastructure and quality of life for its residents. All three projects were deemed essential and will be closely monitored for timely completion and budget compliance.
