Couple Exchanges Vows in Unconventional Wedding Ceremony at Oxxo in Puerto Vallarta

In a heartwarming celebration of love that transcends tradition, Genaro Hernández and Alondra Vilchis recently made headlines as they tied the knot in what might be one of the most unexpected wedding venues: an Oxxo convenience store.

The couple, who considers themselves soul mates, decided to take their vows within the familiar aisles of the Oxxo franchise located in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. Renowned as the “most beautiful Oxxo in Mexico,” the store served as the perfect backdrop for their unique union after they emerged as winners of the “Dilo Con Oxxo” campaign.

Surrounded by the melodious tunes of a saxophonist and embraced by the presence of their loved ones, Genaro and Alondra exchanged heartfelt promises at an altar adorned with symbols of love – hearts and petals. Their decision to choose such an unconventional venue stemmed from their unwavering belief that the essence of their love transcends physical spaces.

Reflecting on their extraordinary decision, Genaro Hernández shared, “When Alondra and I returned after finishing 2 years, I said I’m not moving from here, since she was the one for me. The truth is, the place doesn’t matter. We are the first couple to get married in an Oxxo, which makes this a unique and fun experience.”

Their remarkable journey to becoming the first couple to wed in an Oxxo store was fueled by the genuine and exuberant love they share. Amongst over 300 participating couples in the #DiloConOXXO campaign, their story stood out for its authenticity and charm, capturing the attention of Rossina Rodríguez, Oxxo Brand Manager.

“We chose them because they dreamed of getting married, and they also demonstrated the great responsibility they have as a family, which ended up conquering us,” remarked Rodríguez, highlighting the couple’s profound commitment to each other and their growing family.

For Genaro and Alondra, the opportunity to exchange vows in an Oxxo store was a dream come true, one that initially seemed beyond their reach due to economic constraints and the impending arrival of their first child. However, the call from Oxxo presented them with a chance to turn their dreams into reality.

Recalling their initial hesitation, Alondra Vilchis shared, “We were going to get married in the civil registry, but we were only going to go with our witnesses. But look, God arranges things. The ‘Say it with Oxxo’ call came out, and we said to ourselves, ‘shall we do it?’ And we decided to participate because we did want to get married here to make our dreams come true.”

Their love story, shared through a touching video, chronicles their journey from a chance encounter on Facebook to the rekindling of their romance in 2022, marked by the joyous news of their impending parenthood. Despite the challenges they faced, their love endured, reaffirming the age-old adage that true love always finds its way back home.

As Genaro and Alondra embark on this new chapter of their lives, their story serves as a testament to the boundless power of love and the profound significance of cherishing every moment, no matter where it unfolds. In a world filled with conventional norms, their unconventional wedding stands as a poignant reminder that love knows no bounds.
