Puerto Vallarta Anticipates Booming Tourism Season for Holy Week and Easter

Puerto Vallarta is poised to achieve remarkable occupancy rates during the upcoming Holy Week and Easter holiday season, continuing its recent trend of strong tourism performance. Luis Villaseñor Nolasco, the director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Advertising of Puerto Vallarta, shared optimistic forecasts for the destination’s tourism sector, extending from the present through May, traditionally a peak period for group travel.

According to Villaseñor Nolasco, Puerto Vallarta enjoys a favored status among Mexican and regional tourists during the Semana Santa (Holy Week) and Easter seasons. “We are fortunate to be a preferred destination for many Mexicans and regional tourists during these holidays. We anticipate full occupancy during the holy days,” he stated, underscoring the city’s appeal to a diverse tourist demographic.

An intriguing development noted by Villaseñor Nolasco relates to the San Marcos Fair. This event, occurring shortly after Holy Week, encourages a significant number of Aguascalientes residents to travel, thereby sustaining a high level of tourism in Puerto Vallarta through April. This period is expected to attract a mix of regional, national, and international visitors.

Puerto Vallarta recently set a new record for arrivals at its International Airport, with a slight decrease in domestic tourism which is attributed to the current focus on international visitors. “We have even managed to surpass Los Cabos in this area,” Villaseñor Nolasco added, highlighting the city’s growing popularity on the international stage.

In response to these promising trends, Puerto Vallarta’s tourism officials are crafting targeted advertising campaigns. These initiatives aim to boost tourism during the Holy Week and Easter holidays and the summer vacation season, as well as to attract international tourists for the autumn-winter 2024-2025 season. Collaborations with national and international partners are integral to these efforts, ensuring that Puerto Vallarta remains a top choice for travelers seeking unique experiences in Mexico.

The city’s strategic approach to tourism promotion, combined with its natural beauty and cultural offerings, positions Puerto Vallarta as a prime destination for holidaymakers from around the world. With a focus on enhancing visitor experiences and extending its appeal across diverse tourist markets, Puerto Vallarta looks forward to a successful and vibrant tourism season.
