Puerto Vallarta Showcases Mexican Wine at Third Vinoma Fest

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Puerto Vallarta, known for its stunning natural attractions and high-quality services, is now playing a pivotal role in promoting Mexican wine through the third edition of the Vinoma Fest. The festival not only underscores the city’s burgeoning status as a tourist hotspot but also highlights its commitment to enhancing its cultural and gastronomic landscape.

Luis Antonio Villaseñor Nolasco, Director of the Tourism Trust (Fidetur), shared his thoughts during the opening ceremony held at a tourist development near Mismaloya. “Our objective is to ensure the continuous success of Puerto Vallarta, and events like these play a crucial part. Despite being traditionally recognized for raicilla, a regional spirit, we aim to transform the city into a platform that elevates Mexican wine, complemented by our exceptional culinary offerings,” he stated.

The festival, according to Nolasco, is a testament to the positive developments in the area. “Hosting approximately 28 events annually, we offer something new every two weeks, attracting tourists and showcasing our strengths,” he added.

Manuel Santana Encarnación, the General Director of the festival, highlighted the event’s schedule from March 7 to 9, featuring over 40 prominent wineries from 12 Mexican states. The Vinoma Fest transcends typical wine tastings, offering a deep dive into the Mexican wine culture. It serves as a platform for attendees to explore new brands, understand food pairings, and gain insights from leading oenologists, sommeliers, and viticulturists from Mexico and beyond.

The festival’s agenda is packed with a diverse array of conferences and panels led by renowned experts. These sessions aim to expand attendees’ knowledge of wine-making and current trends within the industry.

A highlight of the event, “The Wine Festival,” is set to take place this Saturday at the maritime terminal. It will feature a selection of over 200 local wines, which will be paired with the exquisite culinary offerings from the region, showcasing the synergy between Mexican wines and local gastronomy.

The event was also graced by the presence of interim mayor Francisco José Martínez Gil and Estefanía Flores Baca from the state’s Secretariat of Economic Development, demonstrating the broad support for the festival and its significance to Puerto Vallarta’s tourist and economic growth.

The Vinoma Fest not only celebrates the rich wine culture of Mexico but also positions Puerto Vallarta as a leading destination for gastronomic and cultural tourism, promising a boost in visitor numbers and further development of the local wine industry.
