Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – As the summer vacation period approaches, Puerto Vallarta is gearing up to welcome a significant influx of tourists. Expectations are high, with estimates suggesting that the average occupancy rate will exceed 70% in the city.
Luis Villaseñor Nolasco, the director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Advertising of Puerto Vallarta (Fidetur Vallarta), emphasized the city’s popularity among tourists, particularly nationals, who are looking forward to enjoying their holiday period on the beach.
“We are expecting to exceed the 70-73 percent average (occupancy) for the entire period. We are very optimistic that once the elections are over, travel plans will be reactivated,” stated Villaseñor Nolasco.
Puerto Vallarta has consistently been a preferred destination during the summer due to its extensive hotel offerings catering to all types of budgets. This, coupled with positive expectations, has the director of Fidetur Vallarta feeling optimistic about the upcoming season.
There is a noticeable increase in interest in Puerto Vallarta as a travel destination, evidenced by travel search engines, particularly those in the United States. “We have seen in some reports that searches for the destination are increasing by almost 7 percent for the coming months, both nationally and internationally, which gives us good information that there is interest in coming to the destination,” highlighted Villaseñor Nolasco.
The restaurant sector is also anticipating a strong performance, correlating with the expected high hotel occupancy rates. A significant influx of diners is projected, contributing to what is expected to be a vibrant and bustling summer season in Puerto Vallarta.
