Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – In a continued effort to enhance security measures across Puerto Vallarta, the Citizen Security Commission, in collaboration with the Navy, the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the Jalisco State Police, conducted a series of coordinated operations over the weekend. These operations, known as Mixed Operations Base (BOM) initiatives, targeted neighborhoods with a higher incidence of criminal activity as part of the city’s comprehensive strategy to bolster public safety.
The operation commenced at 10:18 p.m. on Saturday, with law enforcement agencies deploying personnel to various neighborhoods and key avenues within the municipality. The areas of focus included Marina, La Aurora, Palmar de Aramara, Versalles, Lázaro Cárdenas, December 5, López Mateos, Bugambilias, Los Ramblases, May 1, Barrio Santa María, Aralias II, Infonavit, Independencia, Ex Haciendas, and the El Pitillal area.
The primary goal of these operations is to reinforce the presence of law enforcement on the streets, thereby increasing the security of residents and protecting their property. In addition to the visible police presence, these operations aim to deter antisocial and criminal behavior, ultimately preventing the occurrence of potential crimes in the targeted areas.
During the operation, at 11:14 p.m., officers intercepted a white Nissan Sentra that was observed driving suspiciously on Puerto Las Peñas Street in the Los Ramblases neighborhood. A thorough inspection of the vehicle was conducted, but no irregularities were found, and the occupants were allowed to continue on their way.
Shortly thereafter, around midnight, law enforcement agents established a vehicle checkpoint at the intersection of Las Torres and 5 de Mayo in the Ex Haciendas neighborhood. At this checkpoint, authorities inspected two vehicles, five motorcycles, and conducted precautionary searches of two women and ten men. No significant incidents were reported during these inspections.
The Citizen Security Commission, alongside its federal and state counterparts, reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Puerto Vallarta’s residents. These coordinated efforts are in strict alignment with the municipal government’s guidelines to maintain public order and provide the security that the city’s population deserves.
As Puerto Vallarta continues to experience growth and development, the ongoing collaboration between various law enforcement agencies plays a crucial role in safeguarding the community. The success of these operations underscores the importance of a unified approach to addressing security challenges, with the ultimate aim of creating a safer environment for all who call Puerto Vallarta home.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities as part of a collective effort to maintain the peace and security of the city. The Citizen Security Commission has reiterated its dedication to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that Puerto Vallarta remains a safe destination for both residents and visitors alike.
