Grupo Vidanta informed the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of the creation of a new 18-hole golf course in Nuevo Vallarta designed by Greg Norman. It will be called Vidanta Golf Greg Norman Design.
Construction began less than six months ago and already boasts five holes, which means the first nine holes will be ready for play in the month of May, with the next nine to be finished by November of this year. It will be able to welcome 260 players per day.
This new sports attraction will have as its mission to fulfill the demand for golfing in the region, as the destination’s positioning and tourism recovery have lengthened the waiting lists.
Jesús Torres, Operations Director for Vidanta Golf, commented that 23-year-old Mexican golfer, Carlos Ortiz, will be the brand ambassador and representative for Grupo Vidanta for the US PGA Tour. Ortiz will eventually promote the destinations that host Vidanta Golf, such as the Riviera Nayarit.
Greg Norman will be finishing up his second golf course in the Riviera Nayarit by year’s end, as the Litibú Golf Course was also created under his signature.
With this new golf course, the Riviera Nayarit will have a total of seven greens. As of publication, golfers can play at El Tigre, Flamingos, Litibú, Punta Mita Pacífico, Punta Mita Bahía and El Nayar; the latter, it should be pointed out, has changed its name to Vidanta Golf Nicklaus Design Nuevo Vallarta.
