Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Travel options are expanding just in time for peak tourist season, as Southwest Airlines prepares to launch its inaugural route from Sacramento to Puerto Vallarta next Saturday, March 8. This brand-new service is part of the airline’s effort to enhance connectivity to popular destinations in both Mexico and the United States.
On Saturday, Southwest will introduce two new nonstop routes, each operating once per week. Passengers departing Nashville at 11:20 a.m. will land in Los Cabos approximately four and a half hours later, while those flying out of Sacramento can reach Puerto Vallarta in three and a half hours after departing at 8:25 a.m. Fares for both new routes start at $244 each way.
The launch arrives at a prime time for Puerto Vallarta’s tourism market, which is already witnessing a surge in foreign visitors. Southwest’s newest route from Sacramento complements the five direct flights to Puerto Vallarta that the carrier already operates from other locations.
Meanwhile, the airline is also introducing additional services for travelers based in Austin. Starting March 6, Southwest will offer new nonstop flights to Milwaukee on weekdays and to Reno on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. One-way fares from Milwaukee begin at $139, and fares from Reno start at $182.
With these new flights, Southwest aims to bolster its network across key leisure and business markets. For travelers from California, Tennessee, and Texas alike, these offerings promise greater convenience and more options for both domestic and international getaways.
