Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A young American man has been arrested after being accused of stabbing and killing a 66-year-old man during an altercation in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta. The video, which began circulating on social media yesterday, shows the alleged assailant retracing his steps to confront the victim. Shouting in English for the man to “go away,” he then resumes walking. The elderly man steps off the sidewalk and follows in the same direction. Moments later, the younger man appears to draw a knife and threatens him.
Although parked cars obscure the crucial moment of the attack, the recording shows the victim seconds later, backing away and clutching the left side of his chest. A bystander is heard asking, “Did he stab you?” as the alleged attacker, described as wearing black shorts, a shirt, and dark glasses, walks away from the scene. The injured man tragically died shortly afterward.
The incident reportedly occurred on Venustiano Carranza Street, near the corner of Ignacio L. Vallarta, just a block from Lázaro Cárdenas Park—a popular area frequented by both locals and visitors.
On social media, users have identified the alleged perpetrator as Irvin, a California resident who allegedly owns several businesses. Sources close to the State Attorney General’s Office have indicated that the suspect is in custody, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal confrontation.
