The 19th Los Muertos fishing tournament runs Saturday, Nov. 7, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Puerto Vallarta, with awards set for 6:30 p.m.
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, November 7, 2026 – The 19th Torneo de Pesca Playa Los Muertos is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with boats leaving from the Los Muertos pier.
Registration closed Friday at Deportes Gutiérrez Rizo, at Aquiles Serdán 350 in Emiliano Zapata. The Visita Jalisco event listing put the entry fee at 6,500 pesos per boat.
Crews will bring their catches to Cuates y Cuetes, the restaurant beside the pier. At the tournament’s October press conference, organizers said they expected more than 100 boats. They announced first-place prizes of 200,000 pesos for dorado, also known as mahi-mahi, and 100,000 pesos for tuna.
The pier will also be the starting point for a separate event on Sunday, when Limpia tu Mar holds its trash fishing tournament to collect floating waste from the bay.
Saturday’s awards are set for 6:30 p.m. Organizers say guest chefs will prepare some of the day’s catch for competitors and spectators to try, and live music is scheduled from 7:15 to 10 p.m.
