Cirque du Soleil and Grupo Vidanta today unveiled ticket sales for LUDŌ, their eagerly anticipated resident production at the new VidantaWorld resort in Nuevo Vallarta. Scheduled to open December 12, 2025, LUDŌ will be the Canadian troupe’s second permanent Mexican show—following the enduring success of JOYÀ in Riviera Maya—and marks Cirque’s first water-focused stage creation since the iconic “O”.
Set within the forthcoming BON Luxury Theme Park, LUDŌ promises a fully immersive, multi-sensory journey. Audiences will be transported into a realm where “the boundaries of physics and fantasy blur,” blending high-wire aquatic acrobatics, live orchestral and electronic music, breathtaking projected visuals, and a curated gourmet menu—all showcased in a purpose-built 696-seat theatre outfitted with cutting-edge surround sound and stage technology.
“LUDŌ marks a new era for Cirque du Soleil,” said Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
“This show demonstrates what’s possible when two visionary brands, like Cirque and Vidanta, come together to revolutionize live entertainment globally.”
Under the visionary creative direction of Michel Laprise—whose credits include numerous flagship Cirque productions—LUDŌ explores the elemental magic of water. “Water has no boundaries; it holds memories, changes shape, and defies gravity,” Laprise explained. “This show is an exploration of that limitless creative potential.”
Grupo Vidanta’s Executive Vice President Iván Chávez emphasized the partnership’s significance for Mexico’s cultural landscape.
“This isn’t just a new show; it’s a watershed in international entertainment. With LUDŌ, we’re celebrating Mexico’s creative wealth and bringing an unforgettable experience from Nuevo Vallarta to the world.”
A New Landmark for Luxury Entertainment
BON Luxury Theme Park, set to officially open in 2026, represents Grupo Vidanta’s bold foray into high-end themed entertainment. Nestled along Mexico’s Pacific coast, just ten minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, VidantaWorld combines resort hospitality with immersive attractions. LUDŌ’s early debut offers a taste of the park’s future, where architecture, natural surroundings, and technology coalesce to redefine the guest experience.
The theatre itself is a marvel of engineering. A retractable pool floor transforms the stage from dry performance space to a deep water arena, enabling spectacular feats of diving, synchronized swimming, and aerial stunts that seem to defy gravity. State-of-the-art lighting rigs and 360-degree projection mapping envelop spectators in a dynamic visual narrative that evolves from tranquil oceanic vistas to thunderous cascades.

Recognizing that modern audiences crave more than just visual spectacle, LUDŌ integrates a variety of premium F&B offerings. Four tiered ticket packages allow guests to tailor their evening:

LUDŌ is slated to perform over 300 times annually, with evening and select matinee shows to accommodate families and international travelers. The theatre is fully ADA-compliant, featuring wheelchair-accessible seating, assistive listening devices, and sensory-friendly performances upon request.
Grupo Vidanta has pledged to hire and train local talent both onstage and behind the scenes. Workshops and community outreach programs will launch in mid-2025, offering regional performers and technicians opportunities to join the LUDŌ creative team.
Economic and Cultural Impact
Tourism experts anticipate LUDŌ will significantly bolster Nuevo Vallarta’s year-round appeal. By extending the high-season profile beyond traditional summer months, the show is expected to drive hotel occupancy, stimulate local businesses, and reinforce Mexico’s reputation for world-class live entertainment.
In addition, the collaboration underscores a growing trend of destination-resort residencies by leading performance companies. As Cirque du Soleil expands its footprint in Mexico, it amplifies the country’s status as a cultural hub, attracting discerning travelers seeking luxury combined with artistic innovation.
