Act II Entertainment has another hit show on it’s Main Stage this month. Forever Plaid, a lively, musical revue written in 1990 by Stuart Ross has been popular worldwide and now graces the stage of Act II Entertainment in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romantica.
The story focuses on a 50’s musical quartet of high school chums dreaming of recording an album. Their dream is cut short when their car collides with a bus on their way to a big dream gig. The play begins with the ‘Plaids’ returning from the afterlife for one final chance at musical glory.
The songs they sing during the course of the musical include: “Three Coins in the Fountain”; “Undecided”; “Gotta Be This or That”; “Moments to Remember”; “Crazy ‘Bout Ya, Baby”; “Not Not Much”; “Sixteen Tons”; “Chain Gang”; “Perfidia”; “Cry”; “Heart and Soul”; “Lady of Spain”; “Scotland the Brave”; “Shangri-La”; “Rags to Riches”; and “Love Is A Many Spendored Thing”
Looking back, the ‘Plaids‘ realize that they had lived wonderful lives sharing their friendship and their music. Now together again, they experience the unimaginable and the unexplained.
This is a touching story of friendship and the wonderful harmonizing music of a 50’s band. In this inspiring musical, four young men get a second chance to realize their dream together.
Under the direction of Alfonso Lopez and with Bob Bruneau at the piano, Forever Plaid stars local performers Elvis Martinez, Alfonso Lopez, Roberto Duran and Jose Maria Caudillo, and is produced by Act II Entertainment and Mary Amelotte.
Forever Plaid is halfway through it’s successful run at the Main Stage at Act II Entertainment. Don’t miss this opportunity to relive the 50’s when harmonizing bands and jukebox doo-wop were king!
ACT II Entertainment and it’s Main Stage are located on the corner of Insurgentes and Basilio Badillo on the South side of Puerto Vallarta. Tickets are now on sale at the STAGES box office or online at VallartaTickets.com.
