Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, July 24, 2026 – Jalisco has awarded a MXN 7.5 million production contract tied to Latin Fest Diversity Week, covering live entertainment in the Romantic Zone, staging, and a large lighting installation at Los Muertos Pier.
The official award decision sets the contract at MXN 7,495,099 including tax, slightly above the rounded figure initially reported. Creativa Leventoph, S.A. de C.V. received the contract and requested a 50 percent advance.
The figure does not represent a line-by-line event budget. Jalisco purchased the production as one bundled service combining performers, a stage, audio and video equipment, lighting, generators, dressing rooms, personnel, security during setup and removal, and illuminated structures near Los Muertos Pier.
That structure makes it impossible to determine from the published records how much public money is assigned to artist fees, equipment, travel, lodging, staging, or the pier installation.
Two companies submitted proposals. Both passed the legal and documentary review, but HAI Experiencias, S.A. de C.V. was rejected during the technical stage. The award document says the company did not provide several required materials, including a rendering of the pier lighting project, artist biographies and technical specifications, project-management certification and other compliance documents.
Creativa Leventoph was consequently the only company whose offer reached the economic evaluation. Jalisco said the bid fell within the allowable range established through its market study and awarded the full package under a binary pass-or-fail review.
The state’s technical requirements call for four live performances lasting at least 25 minutes each at the intersection of Ignacio L. Vallarta and Lázaro Cárdenas on July 30. The stage package includes a five-by-five-meter platform, a large video screen, robotic lighting, audio equipment and temporary dressing rooms.
The official Puerto Vallarta event calendar has announced Christian Chávez, drag performer Taiga Brava and electronic-music artist Mariana Bo. The July 30 program is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. with a red carpet, a large-screen Drag Race premiere and live performances.
The contract requires stage construction to begin July 27 and be fully operational by July 29. Dismantling is scheduled after the August 1 program. Businesses and people moving through the Romantic Zone could therefore encounter production activity several days before the public events begin.
No detailed street-closure plan had been published as of July 24. The municipal agreement places traffic coordination, police, Civil Protection, firefighters, medical support, garbage collection, permits and institutional promotion under the city’s responsibilities.
Puerto Vallarta’s City Council approved up to MXN 1 million in municipal funds during a June 5 vote. The same agreement anticipated a MXN 7 million contribution through the Jalisco State Entertainment Agency.
Those planned contributions total MXN 8 million, while the awarded production contract totals MXN 7,495,099. The available records do not explain whether the remaining MXN 504,901 will stay unspent, cover activity outside the production contract or be handled through another part of the agreement. The city is also contributing municipal services in addition to its cash authorization.
The new contract provides the final spending details behind PVDN’s earlier report on the city’s Diversity Week commitment. Tribuna de la Bahía first reported the state award and the lack of itemized pricing.
Programming continues July 31 at 8 p.m. with the third Voces del Orgullo recognition ceremony at Domósfera. Organizers say the event will recognize LGBTQ activists, community leaders and projects, with a MXN 50,000 financial award planned.
The destination calendar lists official Latin Fest parties on August 1 but had not published their venues or starting times as of Friday.
