Jalisco prosecutors report 81 suspects in cases involving women
Jalisco prosecutors said 81 suspected aggressors were brought before judicial authorities in cases handled by the state’s gender-focused vice prosecutor’s office between May 1 and May 15. The cases were handled by the Vice Prosecutor’s Office for Specialized Investigation in Attention to Women, Girls, Boys and Adolescents, Gender Reason and the Family, according to reports from La Crónica de Hoy and Quadratín Jalisco.
Most of the cases involved family violence, with 66 cases reported. Prosecutors also listed four cases involving crimes against personal dignity, two cases of sexual abuse, two involving violation of sexual intimacy, two homicides, one feminicide, one attempted feminicide, one case of feminicidal inducement to suicide, one threats case, and one property damage case.
Authorities said many of the alleged aggressors were part of the victims’ family circle or circle of acquaintances. Telediario reported that the proceedings came from 80 investigation files and involved events that occurred in different parts of Jalisco between 2021 and 2026.
How the suspects were brought before judges
The prosecutor’s office said the 81 people reached court through three legal routes. Authorities executed 12 arrest warrants, presented 66 people via judicial summonses, and detained 3 people in flagrante.
Judges ordered several types of court measures. The report listed 38 conditional suspensions of proceedings, 31 restriction measures, seven justified pretrial detentions, and four automatic pretrial detentions. In one case, the judge did not impose a measure, while the case remained under institutional monitoring.
Puerto Vallarta appears in the statewide breakdown
The cases were processed in several parts of Jalisco. Regional agencies handled 20 cases, followed by 18 in Guadalajara, 15 in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, 12 in San Pedro Tlaquepaque, 8 in Zapopan, 4 in Tonalá, and 3 in Puerto Vallarta.
The report did not provide details about the three Puerto Vallarta cases. Vallarta Daily has recently covered local concerns over violence involving women, including three women found dead in Puerto Vallarta since May 10, and a statement from Colectivo 50+1 pressing local authorities after those deaths.
The prosecutor’s report described the cases as judicial proceedings involving suspected aggressors. It did not identify the suspects or victims, nor did it say whether any of the people linked to the cases had been convicted.
