Three Women Found Dead in Puerto Vallarta Since May 10

A woman’s body was found Thursday morning on a dirt road in Parque Las Palmas, near the road to Mojoneras. Authorities have not released her name. The case adds to a growing set of recent investigations involving women found dead in Puerto Vallarta since May 10. Two earlier victims also remained unidentified as of the latest available reporting. The new case is being handled under a femicide investigation protocol while officials work to confirm what happened.

Woman found near the road to Mojoneras

Authorities found a woman dead Thursday morning in the Parque Las Palmas area of Puerto Vallarta, near the road to Mojoneras.

The body was located beside a dirt road on Camino Viejo a Mojoneras, according to preliminary local reports. Municipal police responded after an emergency call reported a woman lying near the roadway.

Officers confirmed the woman no longer had vital signs. She was estimated to be about 35 years old and had visible injuries.

The area was cordoned off while state prosecutors and forensic personnel carried out the first investigative steps. The case is being handled under a femicide investigation protocol.

Authorities had not publicly released the woman’s name as of the latest available reporting.

Third woman found dead since May 10

The discovery makes this the third reported case involving a woman found dead in Puerto Vallarta since May 10.

The first case was reported on May 10, when a woman was found dead on Avenida Víctor Iturbe “El Pirulí.” She remained unidentified in the latest available reports.

A second woman was found dead on May 15 along Federal Highway 200 south, near the road toward Mismaloya. That victim also remained unidentified.

In both earlier cases, authorities released clothing descriptions and tattoo details to help families or search groups identify the victims.

The May 21 case adds another open investigation involving a woman found dead in a relatively isolated area of the municipality.

Investigation remains open

Authorities have not reported a motive or arrest in the latest case.

The woman found near Mojoneras was reported to be wearing black pants, a white long-sleeve top, a wine-colored bra, and black boots. One reported identifying mark was a tattoo on the right side of her neck depicting a woman’s face.

Investigators are expected to determine the cause of death, confirm the victim’s identity, and establish whether the case meets the legal standard for femicide.

The three cases remain important for local residents to follow because identification is still pending in the earlier cases, and the new investigation has not yet produced public answers.

Jalisco has rejected media claims that the deaths are perpetrated by a Puerto Vallarta serial killer.
